Vision

Birchwood students will be prepared for post-secondary readiness upon graduation. They will accomplish this by:

  • Having an awareness of how their skills and passion can translate into careers.

  • Creating an outline for their future career goals and have the ability to change goals as they develop and learn more about themselves.

  • Developing soft skills that can be utilized in both post secondary education or employment.

  • Utilizing problem solving skills to work through both academic and career related problems.

Birchwood Schools support our students by:

  • Assisting students and parents with academic and career readiness planning.

  • Offering courses and support needed to help students meet their goals.

  • Providing partnership opportunities for students, including local industries and careers available to them.

  • Providing courses that prepare students for their post-secondary education.

About Us

College and Career Ready

Whether your post-secondary goals include attending a competitive 4-year University, the local 2-year Community & Technical College, joining a branch of the military or applying to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation, your course of study and how you perform during high school directly impacts what options you will have.

We want to encourage students to challenge themselves at the most rigorous level possible but we also want to see students able to monitor and balance all activities when choosing high school courses. It is important to consider your involvement in leadership opportunities, athletics, music, community service, employment, and other extracurricular activities when choosing your course load.
